Leadership in business is not just the art of directing the motivated or motivating the confused or irresolute person.  It is about guiding the emotionally unstable to believe in themselves and tap into their unique insights.  A person’s real contribution is not driven by their ability to apply directives, but by offering valuable insights and a positive attitude.

In short, customer service should be very important to the leadership of an organization.

Why do most training programs fail to change behavior? One of the main reasons is most of the programs focus on the characteristics of leadership. These are generally vague concepts that encapsulate a list of desirable attributes, such as, charisma, vulnerability, confidence etc., which are often unattainable or at odds. That is, they require an individual to move across a rather broad spectrum of abilities or to go against his innate styles.
