Dave holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations and has completed several postgraduate executive programs in organizational structure, HR business strategy, and human resource management.

Dave is an experienced executive, having spent thirty-seven years in the auto industry in a variety of senior roles undertaking some of the most formidable business challenges. During his tenure in the auto industry he led teams involved in new product start-ups, plant closings, capacity increases, and a complete organizational restructuring. Dave also served on the board of governors at Niagara College and as chairman of the board of governors during its period of major expansion.

During his professional career, Dave developed and implemented performance-measurement systems linking employee performance to the achievement of business achievements. He also introduced key concepts of leadership competencies into the selection methodology used to identify future leaders. Dave was recognized as a seasoned executive coach, having coached several auto sector leaders in Canada and the United States. Dave is also an experienced mediator and has many years of conflict-management experience and many years of front-line experience dealing with large Canadian unions.

In the auto sector, Dave is known for his leadership in the area of culture change and strategy development and has been part of several major change initiatives affecting Canadian, U.S. and global operations. Dave is recognized as a key strategist who has the ability to see and understand the total business and to guide leadership in making the appropriate trade-off decisions to optimize the performance of the organization. His insights and ability to recognize the needs of all stakeholders in any decision has made his guidance valued and sought after related to major business decisions.
